Albany Law School has partnered with attorneys from Hiscock & Barclay, LLP, for the Diversity Attorney Mentor Program, in which Albany Law students are matched with practicing attorneys from their Albany, NY office to gain inside knowledge of specific legal fields, discuss career paths and seek out networking opportunities as the students begin the process of entering the job market in a law firm setting.
Led by Albany Law School Assistant Director of Admissions, Pershia Wilkins and Hiscock & Barclay Partner Lawrence Zimmerman, who handles all Diversity Iniatiatives for his firm’s Albany office, the Diversity Mentor Program pairs students with attorneys for three-month periods during the fall and spring semesters.
“We are very excited about this new program and this opportunity to interact with students from Albany Law School,” said Zimmerman. “We see this as a long term project that both our attorneys and the students will come to thoroughly enjoy and benefit from.”
