Pipeline Programs

We welcomed 24 high school students from three different counties within Upstate New York (through the Upward Bound Program), who visited our campus as a part of the LSAC Discover Law Pipeline Program.  Students had the opportunity to see what life is like as a law student for the day.

Youth Law Day (YLD) was held at Albany Law School on February 17, 2015.
We hosted 74 local area high-school students for a day on our campus.  To learn more about their visit and to review the exciting day’s agenda, Click HERE

Albany Law School will receive an ABA Partnership Award in early July 2015 (Kenneth Standard, Esq., Chairman of Youth Law Day (YLD) sub-committee with the NYSBA will accept the award on our behalf.   Below is an excerpt from the Congratulations email sent to Albany Law School on 6/12/2015:

“The ABA Standing Committee on Bar Activities and Services selected the New York State Bar Association’s Youth Law Day Program for an ABA Partnership Award! The ABA Committee representative stated in the award letter to NYSBA that the Committee “thought your program did a great job of reaching out to high school students of diverse backgrounds throughout the state and partnering with the law schools.” It was further noted that the Youth Law Day Program “is a great example of both the commitment and collaboration of the legal community to the long-term goal of investing in a diverse profession. We applaud your efforts at Albany Law School, and appreciate you sharing this wonderful program with us.”

This pipeline event was co-sponsored by: Albany Law School; New York State Bar Association, LSAC’s Discover Law Initiatives; LatinoJustice PRLDEF; 3rd Judicial District Gender Fairness Committee and the Capital District Black & Hispanic Bar Association.
