Richard Parsons, a member of Albany Law Class of 1971, and the former chairman of Time Warner and former Citigroup chairman has been named the interim CEO of the Los Angeles Clippers.

The NBA said he will oversee the team’s business operations while it seeks to force racist owner Donald Sterling to sell the team. The league has barred Sterling from having anything to do with the team. Team president Andy Roeser last week said he would be taking an indefinite leave of absence from the team.

“I believe the hiring of Dick Parsons will bring extraordinary leadership and immediate stability to the Clippers organization,” Silver said. “Dick’s credentials as a proven chief executive speak for themselves and I am extremely grateful he accepted this responsibility.”
