On Wednesday, April 21st, Albany Law School welcomed 18 students (sophomores and juniors), the Director of the Pre Law Institute, Vielka Holness, JD, MPA and Academic Advisor, Ms. Louise Freymann from John Jay College of Criminal Justice (CUNY) to our campus. Their day began at 11am with Pershia Wilkins, Director of our Diversity Office greeting them and along with third-year law student, Kristen Lagonegro conducted tours of our campus. Some of the highlights of their day included: a mock criminal law class taught by Professor Donna Young, a presentation by Gail Bensen, Director of Admissions, a law student panel discussion with eight of our students (from the 1L, 2L & 3L classes), a presentation (entitled: “Beyond the First Year”) by the Director (Professor Joseph Connors) and Administrative Director (Ms. Susan Terwilliger) of our Law Clinic & Justice Center, followed by a discussion on professional networking with the Director of Diversity. It was a rewarding day for students and their faculty advisors, many of whom were visiting the Capital District for the first time.
