Over 70 of Albany Law’s staff, students, alumni, and faculty, as well as attorneys from local communities, were in attendance at the Pipeline to Diversity Roundtable Discussion. Also among the attendees were nine local-area judges including panelist and alumna Judge Leslie Stein (’81), Judge Anthony Carpinello, and three of their colleagues from the NYS Supreme Court, Appellate Division.
The panel emphasized the importance of networking and mentor-mentee relationships for students of color seeking employment in the legal field. The panel pointed to student-membership in the New York State Bar Association (for only $10/year) as a resource for current law students to attend events and network with legal professionals.
A highlight of the evening was the Question and Answer session, during which many esteemed members of the Capital District’s legal field imparted do’s and don’t’s for aspiring lawyers and recent law school graduates in their search for legal employment.
Thanks to all those who attended and contributed for a wonderful event!!
