On Thursday, May 5th, the Director of Diversity Affairs welcomed twenty students (sophomores, juniors and seniors),  Vielka Holness, JD, MPA, Director of the Pre-Law Institute, and Ms. Louise Freymann, Academic Advisor from John Jay College of Criminal Justice (CUNY) to Albany Law School.  Our guests day began at 10:30am with Pershia Wilkins, Director of the Diversity Affairs Office greeting them and along with third-year law students, Vivian Sober, ’11 (a John Jay College graduate) and Michal Falkowski, ‘11.

Highlights of their day included: Welcome remarks (discussing why they should choose the legal profession)  by Susan J. Feathers, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs; a mock Contract Law class taught by Professor Nancy Ota; a presentation on the Application and Admissions Process, by Gail Bensen, Assistant Dean for Admissions; a law student and alumni panel discussion; a presentation (Entitled: “Beyond the First Year”) by members of the Albany Law Clinic & Justice Center.  It was a rewarding day for students and their advisors.
