The Boston Lawyers Group (“BLG”) is now accepting registration from Students of Color who are interested in participating in either the Boston, MA, or Washington, DC, Job Fairs. If interested, you should visit their website at www.thebostonlawyersgroup.com, and click on Events, where you will find additional information on both fairs, including accessing the job fair brochure. Students have the choice to register for either the Boston or DC Job Fair, but can attend only one fair. This year the BLG is using Symplicity to assist us in administering the job fairs. Students interested in participating in a Fair should go to https://law-blg-csm.symplicity.com/students to register, and upload ONLY a resume and transcript (must include Spring 2008 semester grades).* The deadline to register is July 11, 2008.

Students from Minds Matter of NYC visited Albany Law School on April 23, 2008. Their day began with a breakfast buffet in the 2000 building boardroom. They then learned about “What Law Schools Want” from Admissions Director Gail Bensen and watched and discussed the video “Choose Law: A Profession For All.” After lunch with students, professors and staff members, they attended Professor Moriarty’s Business Organizations class and then headed to the Federal Courthouse with law student Umair Khan ‘09, ushering the final leg of their visit to the Capital City. There they were hosted at the Federal Courthouse in downtown Albany by ‘76 Albany Law School alum The Honorable Randolph Treece, U.S. Magistrate Judge at the U. S. District Court of Northern District of NY.
The Diversity Office hosted the group and planned their day.

9th -12th graders from Trinity Institute, Albany, Schenectady, Troy and Hudson High Schools will spend the day at Albany Law School on Monday, April 21, 2008 (from 8:30am – 2:30pm).
Students will attend mock college classes, mock law classes, a seminar on preparing for college, learn
about the law school admissions process, and explore their career possibilities in the field of law.
Albany County District Attorney P. David Soares ‘99 will spend lunchtime with the 100+ students and Attorney Kenneth Standard, Partner, Epstein Becker & Green, NYC , will host the day.
The day aligns with Albany Law School’s “pipeline” efforts to introduce the prospect of law school at an early age to populations underrepresented as lawyers.
Students will be in the following locations throughout the day:
East Foyer Registration/Breakfast: 8:30-9:30am
DAMC Welcome Remarks, Mock College Classes, 9:30 – 11:30
GYM Lunch 11:35am-12:35pm with Albany County District Attorney, The Honorable P. David Soares ‘99
GYM, West Wing Classroom & Courtyard (12:45- 2:30pm) – Mock law school classes and other activities
@ 2:40pm (School buses will pick-up students – by the flag pole entrance)
